The New Year's Eve Turmoil didn't knock at my door this year, is it ok?

Bored by the New Year's Eve.

Each year it's the same; people get so excited about what they will be doing on the New Year's Eve.I used to be like that too,but I have just come to realize that there is nothing we do on the particular day, that is different from the other party weekends. At first I got worried, because everyone around was shocked by me staying home alone. But I have come to accept this, I love being a lonely outcast sometimes!
I have always been the kinda person who loved organizing parties, cooking and having a great meal, and drink some wine. I love doing this each time I can, or when we gather with some friends I haven't seen for long.
This year for the New Year's eve, I didn't even think about what I was going to be doing. It appeared to me that I felt like doing nothing. But, just stay in my house alone, read if I want to, listen to some music and sleep. Some people found this shocking. And some friends told me to move my @$$ and get the party started. I personally think that it is okay, there is nothing absolutely special on this day, you can party anytime.
What I find lame are the people who go shopping on the 31st December and buy beautiful night dresses, wear them and return them to the store the day on the 2nd January. And go to the clubs, blow money they don't have yet! I have seen this in the US. Hey people just take it easy, put on something you already have, don't waste your money and time on a single night to impress your friends. There is no red carpet tonight! I am just saying!
In France, it's more about getting drunk in some areas, and in others it's similar to the US (especially in the black community where some women are ready to do whatever it takes to get all the attention).

Three reasons why it is OK not to get into this effervescence of the New Year's Eve:
  1. Save money from buying the tie, the shoes, dress or jewelry (even though cheap jewelry).
  2. Lots of your friends will get drunk on that specific day, and will be singing stupid songs, puking etc... And and if you are not in the same state of mind, there is nothing worst than pretending.
  3. Think about it; each year you get excited but it ends up being an average night, even some other Saturdays were better.
Don't pressure yourself. BE YOU.
